For our Department of Epidemiology and Health Systems, we are looking for a:
Research Associate (80-100%)
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
As part of collaborations with the Center for Economic and Social Research at USC (University of Southern California) and the Gateway Exposome Coordinating Center (GECC) project, which studies the impacts of lifelong environmental exposures on dementia risk and disparities, the research associate will contribute to the project on the impact of public policies on cognitive function and dementia. These projects rely on data from international aging cohorts (Gateway to Global Ageing, https://g2aging.org/(le lien est externe)) and will be conducted within the team led by Prof. Mauricio Avendano.
- Collaborate with the team on all coordination and research activities related to the project and draft project reports and deliverables;
- Ensure communication with project coordinators and the funding agency;
- Contribute to organizing meetings and symposiums to disseminate project results, as well as to developing documents on data collection standards for policies and other related deliverables;
- Actively participate in the life of the sector and department by supporting research, administrative, and teaching activities;
- Contribute to the activities of the Lausanne Center for Health, Policy and Behavior (LCHE) and to the writing and publication of scientific articles in international journals;
- Conduct in-depth literature reviews;
- Contribute to the analysis of quantitative and econometric data;
- Identify, compile, and analyze policy reform documents from different countries.
Your profile :
- Master’s degree in social and/or political sciences or related disciplines (social policy, public policy, political science, public law, economics, public health, sociology, and demography). Knowledge of public health policies would be an asset;
- Knowledge of quantitative methods and research in social and/or economic sciences;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, knowledge of French would be an asset;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency in a statistical analysis software (STATA, R, SAS) would be a plus;
- Strong analytical skills to process complex data and derive clear and relevant conclusions;
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines;
- Initiative and autonomy in task management.
